Jo’s Chicken Braised with Red Cabbage.




This is such an easy dish to cook, but the taste is amazing.  A great dish to impress your dinner guests with, they will think you have been in the kitchen for hours.
 

 You will need
2 tbsp olive oil      4 chicken breasts      1 onion chopped        2 apples chopped     1 tbsp sultanas     
125ml red wine     salt and pepper



Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the chicken and cook on each side for 5 minutes. Remove and transfer to a plate
  






Add the onion to the pan and cook over a medium heat, until soft.  Stir in the cabbage and apples, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.  Add the sultanas, wine and season. Bring to the boil.




Spoon half the cabbage into a slow cooker; add the chicken then the rest of the cabbage. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours until the chicken is tender.
