A more than pleasing stay at Burton Central Travelodge

Once the Midland Railway Grain warehouse, MR R and I had the pleasure of two stays at Burton Central Travelodge. The first visit for five days and the second for three nights.

Ideally situated close to the A38 and just a stone's throw from the train station, Burton Central is located in the heart of Britain's brewing capital.
I cannot fault my stay.  Staff were friendly and helpful, two staff members who I have to name - Dan and Beth. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job of keeping all the rooms  well serviced to an immaculate standard, as well as all the public areas, which I assume is a hard job seeing as there seemed to be a heavy traffic of construction workers staying both times.
Our first room was opposite the train track; however, we never heard a thing due to well-insulated windows.  Our second room was lovely, situated on the third floor it had a wonderful window seat looking out onto the street.

We would definitely recommend Burton Central Travelodge.

What to do in Burton
Just a short walk from the hotel, you can be in the town centre.   Burton has two markets a market hall open Tuesday to Saturday and an outdoor market held every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8.30am until 4pm.  A farmers market is held in the market square on the last Friday of every month.
There are three shopping centres; the Copper’s Square Shopping Centre is the principal shopping area. The Octagon Centre is on New Street and there is another, much smaller shopping centre, Burton Place Shopping Centre.  Also located in town is Middleway Retail Park, which includes a multiplex cinema, Matalan and restaurants.   With brewing being so ingrained with the town, it is probably not surprising that Burton is also home to many good pubs.  If you are not into shopping and drinking there are many activities you can do in Burton.
