Chow Kit Market - Kuala Lumpur October 2014

Chow Kit is on the city’s KL Monorail Line.  This is an early morning market, closing lunchtime.

 A great place to buy fresh fruit and veg, dried products and any kind of egg you can think of; also fish, meat and chicken. 

Even if you don’t need any of these, it is good to have a walk around, see the locals, stop have a chat with them everyone is so friendly and willing to tell you what they sell.  

Jack fruit 

Smells disgusting, most hotels have a notice up saying No Jack Fruit in rooms, but you must try a piece the inside is sweet and soft 

Braised Cabbage

I love braised cabbage here, but somehow not tempted to try it dry

Minced chillies  

The biggest melon and bananas I might have seen

You can either buy your chicken all ready, to throw in the pot, or choose your own and have it prepared while you wait 

This fellow seemed a little to eager to be picked, wonder if he knew where he would end up! 

Sweetcorn Buns a must try
