For the last eight years of being in Goa, I
have to say that Navtara is the best 100% pure veg restaurant in Goa.
They have restaurants in Mapsua, Panaji, Margo,
and Purvorim and just recently, they have opened a new one in Calangute.
Mr R and I have always found the portion
sizes ample enough to share a curry and biryani, and great value too.
All their establishments are impeccably clean. Service is quick, efficient, and friendly. On the ground floor of all Navatara’s the
downstairs is non-a/c, meals are served on traditional stainless steel plates. Upstairs they offer a/c and food is served on
white plastic plates.
Be aware that all these restaurants get
very busy at lunchtime; we tend to get there for mid-day before the rush.
Veg Biryani 130 Rupees.
A huge dish packed potatoes, peas, cauliflower, paneer cheese, green peppers, carrots and green beans. More than enough for two people. A spicy dish, that you will want time and time again.
Veg Makhanwala 150 Rupees.
What can I say, amazing not lacking in veg at all and the gravy sauce is creamy, tasty and unlike so many curries I have had here not floating in oil.
Veg Rita - Free
Yes, free normally you have to pay extra for rita which normally is just curd this had more than enough chopped veg.
More than enough food. So the total of our meal with 2 bottles of water and 2 rotis came to: 360 Rupees. What more could you ask for.
Will I Be Back? Oh yes, no question of that, the best value for money in Goa.
