Just a few minutes’
walk from our place is the famous Nerul Bridge.
A word of warning, take care when walking
across the bridge, vehicles are not pedestrian friendly.
Once over the
bridge you are now in Nerul, a sleepy little Hamlet that many tourists never
get to see. All the action seems to center
just off the Panjim road, a handful of shops including a fish market that
caters for the village dwellers basic needs.
Carry on down the
road until you get to the school and take a right turn.
When you come to
the building with a Tito’s sign on it, you need to go down here.
Walking this road, reminds me of home, so rural, away from the hustle and bustle of sunset strip wanting to grab every pound they think I may have! This is the real goa, back to basics, what we all originally came here for.
Again,
take care, cars drive at speed down this road and will not slow down for pedestrians.
You are now at
Coco Beach.
Coco Beach is a
lovely cove that used to have a handful of shacks, now sadly only one shack
remains with a couple of restaurants. Unfortunately, you cannot swim in the sea
here.
It takes 45 minutes
to walk from Panjim Corner to Coco Beach but so worth it.
