A crazy and whacky day of people throwing powder paint, and
pouring coloured water over each. We had a great day, with holiday makers all
joining in the fun together with the locals.
But don’t wear your good clothes!
One of the major festivals of India is Holi. Celebrated with
enthusiasm on the full moon day
in the month of March.
Holi is also called the Spring Festival - as it marks the arrival of spring the
season. Holi promises of bright summer
days. Fields will be filled with crops
promising a good harvest to the farmers.
Holi also is about the celebrate the death of evil Pootana, who tried to kill Lord Krishna as an
infant by feeding him poisonous milk. However, Krishna sucked her blood, of
which she then died. It is believed that
Pootana represents winter and her death represents the end of winter.
Even the little ones join in the fun
